Provinces In The Philippines

There are 81 provinces in the Philippines, with each having its own administrative divisions. The provinces then are comprised of cities, municipalities, and barangays.

An elected governor and  Provincial Board comprised the elected legislature of each of provinces.

The provinces of the Philippines are grouped into 17 regions based on its location, geographical, ethnological, and cultural characteristics.

Thirteen regions are designated in numerically order, from north to south of the country.

Four regions are designated with acronyms namely National Capital Region (NCR), Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Southwestern Tagalog Region (MiMaRoPa), and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
